How Can I Purchase These Candles?
We at Welcome Home Scents work hard to produce a high quality candle that you will love! Our candles are hand poured in mason jars. We started our business for several reasons.
Our first purpose was to develop a candle that would smell great from beginning to end. We burned candles constantly and spent a lot of money purchasing candles. We found that many times our money was wasted. Either the candles didn’t give off a very strong scent or they left half the wax on the jar. We were determined to produce a candle that would give off a great scent and wouldn’t leave any wax on the jar!
Our second purpose was to provide this candle at a very reasonable price. We looked into all the different parts of the candle and the costs associated with them. It became clear that the two most expensive parts of a candle are the fragrance oils and the containers themselves. As a candle lover, there was no question that the fragrance was the most important part of the candle. We would absolutely not skimp on the quality of the fragrance oils that we chose. We determined that if a candle offers a great scent and a clean and even burn; the container it was housed in was not as important. We then chose to pour our candles in Ball Mason Jars. Ball jars are a high quality inexpensive mason jar. Using these jars, allows us to keep our cost down and offer you an excellent candle at a fantastic price.
We spent approximately two years experimenting with various types of wax, additives, wicks, and dyes. The result of these two years is a candle you will love! The wax in a candle acts as a sponge. We have made sure to saturate our candles with the absolute most fragrance oil that the wax can hold. The result is a strong scented candle which will provide a wonderful scent throughout your home. Many people comment that they still smell the candle the following morning when they wake up!
We know from our own experience that a candle needs more that just a strong scent to really satisfy. If half your candle is stuck to your jar you won’t be too pleased with that candle. During our two years of experimenting we spent a great deal of time working with the various sizes and types of wicks. Our aim was to find the wick that would liquefy all of the wax evenly across the top of the candle. This melted wax is called a melt pool. For your candle to burn evenly you need to have a wick that is capable of liquefying all of the wax across the top of your candle. Our wicks are 100% Lead-Free and were chosen to ensure you with an even burn.
Everyone who burns candles has experienced the black soot that some candles can leave on the jars, your lampshades, or ceilings. No one appreciates this after-effect. We make sure that we mix our candles in a way that ensures a very clean burn.If you follow a few basic instructions you will see that soot is a thing of the past! Each time you burn your candle you should cut your wick to ¼ inch. You should burn your candle for a minimum of 1 hour per inch wide; for example if your candle is 4 inches wide, you should burn the candle a minimum of 4 hours. Lastly, do not blow out your candle! Use your lid to put your candle out, then the next time you want to light it simply remove the lid, cut the wick, and you will be ready to enjoy your candle.
The final result of all of our experiments is a very strong scented candle which burns evenly and cleanly. We call these candles Welcome Home Scents, we chose this name because when someone enters your home while these candles are burning they get a very warm and welcoming feeling.
